ELECTED BOARD POSITIONS - The Nominating Committee will review all applications for Elected Board Positions and submit the nominees at the election during the General Meeting in the Spring.

  • President: Coordinate the work of all officers & committees, and preside at all meetings of the association.
  • 1st VP – Aide to President: Assist President, coordinate Programs.
  • 2nd VP – Membership: Organize and manage membership drives.
  • 3rd VP – Fundraising: Plan, coordinate, and execute the fundraisers for the school.
  • 4th VP – Volunteers: Oversee the recruitment and coordination of all BEES Volunteers.
  • Secretary: Record the minutes & attendance at all meetings.
  • Treasurer: Control and manage the funds and budget of the PTA.

 

APPOINTED BOARD POSITIONS – After the Board Elections, they newly Elected Board will review all applications and select the best possible candidates for the appointed board.

  • 5th Grade Promotion: Plan & organize Promotion ceremony. 
  • Bilingual Coordinator:  Assist our bilingual families, as needed, at PTA events, including meetings, Cafecito and fundraising events.
  • Book Fair: Assist Librarian with Fall & Spring Book Fairs,  including getting volunteers for setup and breakdown, assisting students & managing checkout process.
  • Buzz Fest Coordinator: Coordinate committees for the Fall Fundraiser.
  • Community Outreach/Benevolence: Assist the Counselor to help BEES families and families from our sister school,  JCJ scholarship and other charitable endeavors.
  • Education Rewards: Oversee BoxTops, Target, Shutterfly  and other community education rewards.   Plan collection times and incentives for BoxTops. Be sure checks are being received by Treasurer.
  • Healthy Lifestyles (Bike Rodeo & Field Day): Promote healthy living throughout BEES.  Plan & organize Bike Rodeo. Coordinate with SAPD, purchase snacks, water, trophy’s & participant awards.   Coordinate Field Day. 
  • Hive Hustle Coordinator: Coordinate committees for the Spring Fun Run Fundraiser.
  • Hospitality: Organizes events (approx 4 per year) to welcome BEES families and encourage participation in PTA. Events include First Day of School Brunch, Cafecito and Open House. Works directly with VP-Volunteers.
  • Parliamentarian: Advise on parliamentary laws and procedural matters.
  • Publications: Provide articles and photos for community newspapers, magazines, etc. to promote BEES happenings.
  • Reflections Arts Program:  Encourage & assist students, help complete paperwork for the National PTA Art contest - Reflections.
  • Room Rep Coordinator:  Guide teacher Room Representatives in fall & spring. Provide sample letters, calendar of events, teacher appreciation & favorites lists.
  • Specialists' Assistant Coordinator: Coordinate helpers for the Specialists (Librarian, Coach, Music, Art and Computer Teachers, etc) as needed.
  • Spirit Gear:  Promote sales, fill orders & plan distribution. Work with Board members on items to be offered in BEES store.
  • Spirit Night Coordinator: Secure dates for once a month spirit dining nights with our community restaurants. Works directly with VP-Fundraising.
  • Staff Appreciation: Plan and organize teacher appreciation events.
  • Watch D.O.G.S.:  Coordinate BEES Watch DOG program, order shirts as needed and monitor the scheduling of volunteers.
  • Webmaster: Keep PTA website & Facebook page updated.
  • Yearbook:  Work with yearbook company to plan & order yearbook. Gain online access & assemble yearbook pages. Get volunteers to help with orders & pictures.
